| Q |
Can you guarantee complete erasure? |
| A |
A We apologize that we can not do so. We have used the term complete erasure based on the "program specifications and achieved results." but there is no 100% guarantee.
The product comes with an erasure checking program to increase the reliability of this product. |
| Q |
I believe that there are other erasing methods. Does this product support other methods? |
| A |
A The standard that we have adopted is the "US Ministry of DefenseDoD5220.22-M" standard.
For details refer to
"Disk Erasing Methods". |

|
| Q |
Doesn't disk formatting erase the disk data? |
| A |
A The formatting process only erases the information regarding, which file exists in which part of the disk. The most crucial "file" data itself still remains. By using restoration tools, or by directly reading the contents of the disk, file contents may be divulged. |

|
| Q |
Isn't NEC9821 series supported? |
| A |
• FD start up is not possible for both "Green Pepper FD" and "Green Pepper PRO".
• Windows executable version for "Green Pepper PRO" operates on NEC98. However, the system drive (In NEC98 A: drive) can not be erased.
• A not too old NEC98 series uses a standard type hard disk that is the same as an IBM compatible computers (DOS/V). Therefore, if you transfer a NEC98 HD into an IBM compatible computer and use "Green Pepper FD" or "Green Pepper PRO", you can erase the disk. (Pls. conduct a test run using the evaluation version.) |

| Q |
What OS is being used? |
| A |
A Linux is being used. Linux is a full functioning OS. We are utilizing its multitasking capabilities, and functions for certain disk accessing without depending on the BIOS. |
|
|
| Q |
Does it use English because it is a foreign product? |
| A |
A This product is developed by ourselves. It is difficult to display Japanese due to the constraints of floppy disk capacity. We are trying to implement Japanese user interface in the near future. |
|
|
| Q |
I only have a CD-ROM and no floppy drive. |
| A |
A You can make a startup CD-ROM from a startup FD. We are considering integration in the next version. In the meantime, these widely used tools can be used to make a boot CD. |
|
|
| Q |
Can a USB floppy drive be used? |
| A |
A It is possible if the computer supports USB-FD start up. Kindly check using the evaluation version beforehand. |
|
|
| Q |
Can a CPU other than Intel be used? |
| A |
A We have confirmation that there are some models that operate on K6III, Duaron, Crusoe. We have also confirmed that it does not operate on Athlon Kindly conduct a test run with the evaluation version. Your feed back will be appreciated. |

Product: Green Pepper PRO (Windows executable)
|
| Q |
I heard that no installation is required. Is it possible to use the program if it is saved in a shared folder on a network? |
| A |
It doesn't matter where the program is. All you need to do is double-click it from the window explorer to execute it. If you have an office license, you can place it on a server so that all clients can use it freely. |
|
|
| Q |
Why can't I do an erasing whole disk volume under Windows95/98/Me? |
| A |
All Windows OS may seem the same. However, the, Windows98/98/Me(Win9x) versions and WindowsNT/2000/XP versions are internally completely different. Those are handling its hardware in very different ways. When you try to access the entire disk on a Win9x series, this requires a programming even beyond the Windows specifications. We have excluded this because of the instability factors. |
|
|
| Q |
Can erase USB disks, IEEE1394 disk, or memory card, too? |
| A |
Basically, if it is recognized by Windows it can be erased.
* Kindly conduct a test run with the evaluation version. |
|
|
| Q |
Can erase the C:(System) drive, too? |
| A |
A Not only the C: drive, but all other drives which Windows and other programs are accessing for read or write, can not be erased. Create an start up FD for erasing and then use it for erasing the disk. |
