Background of the development
process |

The PCfs continues to
evolve, becoming more high-tech and complicated by the day. However,
costs of administration and introducing these items are constantly
rising.
Providing a server with "Only the necessary functions,
easy administration and stability" was the starting point of our
development. |
|
|
|
This is a server software that works with most
of personal computers in the market.
Simply insert the
"Vegetable" CD-ROM into your existing PC and switch on the power.
Your PC can now be used as a server. ( the explanation below
excludes the Green Pepper series )

Due to the
caching mechanism to the memory and disk, the reading the CD is
almost not done at all during actual operation. Meaning, response
deterioration due to CD-ROM reading is minimized. It will operate at
a speed equal to that of a hard disk installation under the machine
specifications.. |

You have the
freedom to choose your hardware preference. Ranging from the older
generation PCs to SCSI/RAID server machines. It is a big difference
compared to the NAS. |

|
Linux is
gaining more attention in the recent years, because it is simple and
open, we have managed to provide more stability and speed at a
reasonable price. Able to operate non stop for months. No client
access license required.
Even the older generation PC's
that felt too heavy for Windows Server are fully
usable. |

No driver setting
required |
|

When the
CD-ROM starts running, it automatically detects your PC hardware
configurations and loads the necessary drivers automatically. Not to
mention the network interface cards, the SCSI/RAID cards are also
automatically detected.(*)
10 min after switching on the power is
all you need! It makes no difference whether itfs a home built
PC or high-end server machine.

Data/program are separated |
|

In an existing system, one factor complicating maintenance is that data / program coexists in a disk. By a CD-ROM, the data dividing into a disk as for the program of the program replace it, and the capacity up of the disk maintenance becomes very easy.

Administration is done using the
client PCfs web browser.

compromising adequate server administration.
